THANK YOU

Thank you to all our preceptors who mentored our students in the 2025-2026 experiential year. The Class of 2026 graduated on May 8, 2026, and they are taking their board exams.  The students are very grateful to be able to be mentored by leading practitioners in pharmacy.  For more information about our graduate outcomes, please see https://pharmacy.wisc.edu/academics/pharmd/student-outcomes/

LARRY BOH APPE PRECEPTOR EXCELLENCE AWARD WINNER

Each year we ask fourth-year students to nominate a preceptor who exemplifies the teaching spirit of former faculty member, Professor Larry Boh.  Students submit nominations based on communication skills, teaching skills, professionalism, and outstanding qualities.  This year’s winner is Dr. Trisha Ludwig of UW Health in Madison, WI. She received the award at the May 2026 Graduation Hooding Ceremony.  Congratulations!

NEW REQUIRED RATER TRAINING FOR STUDENT PERFORMANCE EVALUATION AND ENTRUSTABLE PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

There is a new required rater training to help preceptors confidently assess student performance using Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) now included in the 2025 ACPE Standards.

The required recorded presentation along with handouts and resources may be found in the Preceptor Development Center. Please be sure to take the “Check your Understanding” after viewing the presentation to satisfy the training requirement.

If you attended the in-person Preceptor Conference on March 31, 2026, or the Virtual Preceptor Meeting on April 7, 2026, then you do not have to take this training.  We are in the process of adding your attendance to the Preceptor Portal and you should see it marked as completed on or around May 15th.

 APPE SEMINAR INFORMATION:

We are continuing with virtual APPE seminars.  Each block has 3 asynchronous online seminars and one synchronous discussion.  Students are expected to view online seminars and participate in synchronous discussions.   Discussions are held at 7:30am, Noon, or in the late afternoon during the second week of each block.  Please check with your student for discussion dates and time.
