Complete your UW–Madison 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Training

Hello UW School of Pharmacy Preceptors,

This message is to let you know that UW is requiring you to complete the Cybersecurity Awareness Training as you have a UW NetID.

Key Points:

  • This annual training is mandatory for all employees including those in unpaid positions who access UW–Madison information technology resources per UWSA Policy 1032.
  • Training is due every 365 days
  • You must register for one training option (visual or text) on the website 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Training(Source: it.wisc.edu).
  • The training should take about 30 minutes to complete.
  • To pass, you must correctly answer 12 of the 15 multiple choice questions. You can retake the quiz until you pass.

Background Information:

The 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Training is available in English (visual and text). Translated text versions will be available in the near future. This annual training is mandatory for all employees (including undergraduate and graduate student employees), as well as retirees and those in unpaid positions who access UW–Madison information technology resources per UWSA Policy 1032 (Source: wisconsin.edu). The deadline to complete training is one year or 365 days from the day that you last completed training (or earlier if required by your local HR department).

Learning how to be more cyber secure is an important part of keeping data, privacy, and IT systems protected and safe. The information and cybersecurity practices you will learn in this training will not only protect UW–Madison’s data and systems, but your personal data as well.

You must register for one training option (visual or text) on the website 2024 Cybersecurity Awareness Training (Source: it.wisc.edu). The training is provided through Canvas and should take about 30 minutes to complete. To pass, you must correctly answer 12 of the 15 multiple choice questions. The training does not need to be completed in one sitting. You can return to the training to pick up where you left off and complete it at your convenience. You can retake the quiz until you pass.
